Aalborg Akvavit Angel

DDB Copenhagen has worked with Aalborg Akvavit to develop their new platform ‘Cheers to a moment of savouring quiet’ which is being launched during the Christmas season 2013. The campaign centers around Danes sharing a schnapps at a Christmas event, absorbed in the moment. This was an awesome project for me to be involved with, as I got to do the angel in 3D and send it off for 3D print to use a prop in the commercial. The quality of the print is sublime. Even the glass was printed in a transparent plastic material so it looks like glass. It was printed piece by piece, assembled and hand painted by the guys over at MOEF. Second part was to make a realistic render of it hanging over 3 bottles – integrating it with the pack shots. To do this I modelled the 3 bottle shapes and set up the material to catch the reflection of the angel and fixed everything in Photoshop. The angel was rendered in Keyshot, the bottle reflections in Maya, post was done in Photoshop and the posters were finally put together in InDesign.
